"Little girls, this seems to say:
Never stop upon your way;
Never trust a stranger friend
No one knows how it will end.
As you're pretty, so be wise
Wolves may lurk in every guise
Now, as then, 'tis simple truth:
Sweetest tongue hides sharpest tooth.
"

-"The Company of Wolves" (movie version)

"You know what they say: people like sincerity. If you can fake that, you've got it made."

-Ed the Sock (Fromage '03)

BIO:

Lykos was raised in a traditional home where the values of hard work, honesty and humility were considered the mark of a good man. His father worked at the Ministry at a desk job, whereas his mother spent her time at home raising her two children, one of which died in a freak accident while Lykos was only nine.

For his first four years at Hogwarts, Lykos pretty much lived up to that benchmark, always doing his best and working hard at whatever he did, though not really excelling in any particular subject, save charms. As such he was often overlooked when it came to receiving honours in his classes, while other students enjoyed acclaimations even though they almost never studied as hard as he did. Many times he wondered if being sorted into Hufflepuff had to do with this, since so many people tended to regard those in that House as nice people, albeit dim-witted and unambitious in life.

However, it was during his fifth year, his OWL year, that he began to wonder if all that he was taught - that if one toed the line and worked hard, success was guaranteed - was even true. That if hard work and honesty really were the things that got you ahead in life, why was it that so many less honest folks were passing him by on the road to success? It was then that he realised that perhaps honesty and virtue only mattered when the less-honest method wouldn't do. That all you really needed to do was to fake sincerity and look for corner-cutting methods wherever you could, and the world was your proverbial oyster.

During that time he'd begun committing petty crimes: minor thefts and cheating on tests; though only in terms of stealing the other students' notebooks to get the answers, memorise them and get a good mark. He began to notice that such acts gave him a sense of adventure; that this life was more exciting than the honest life ever could be. But as a Hufflepuff, he couldn't quite bring himself to commit larger acts, or acts that involved violence, and so when he could, he would persuade others to carry out the deeds for him, using his natural charm to convince them to do whatever he wanted.

It was during his sixth year (this year) that he began researching the three Unforgivable Curses and made it his goal to at least master one of them before he graduated.

((OOC: I am not Mulciber, nor am I Owen Wilson. I don't own either of them either. I'm merely using them for my own amusement in a role-playing game based in the Potter-verse.

No copyright infringements intended; no money being made. This is all for fun.))
